How does this work?
Please take a chance to browse my portfolio and pricing page to get an idea of what your announcement or invitation will look like. All announcements and invitations are custom made – so everything you see here is just an example and colors and layout can be changed in any way you’d like. If you see a particular piece that was done in the past you love and would like to use as yours this can be done too. I will work with you until you’re 100% satisfied with your piece. Changes are never an extra cost and I would rather change something a few times and have you happy with your piece and enjoy it.
Take a look at the pricing section to choose what type of invitation or announcement suits your needs. I have many options available! I will send a proof to you within 48 hours. Once we are finished with all the changes the piece will be sent to the press. Depending on the type of product you order, you will receive your piece in 1-7 business days. Send me an email after you’ve decided what product you’d like for a more specific delivery date.
What information do you need from me?
Anything you’d like included on the invitation or announcement. For example, a birth announcement would typically include the birth parent’s names, weight, length, sex, birthday, sibling names and of course the new baby’s name.
Can I send you professional pictures?
Yes, but only if you have the copyright release from the photographer. Studio chains like Sears will have these forms and you just need to ask. Simply ask for the copyright release form. I cannot use photographs done by a professional without permission.
How do I pay?
Currently I accept credit or debit card payments through Paypal, personal check, cashiers check or money orders.
Can I pre-order envelopes?
Of course! Many parents ordering birth announcements choose this option so that the envelopes can be filled out and ready to go when the baby arrives. Please be aware there is an additional $10 charge for this service to cover shipping costs.
What type of images would you like?
Please leave the images unedited – I will crop, enhance, colorize, etc. An already cropped picture cannot be undone and a B&W image cannot be reversed completely. The highest quality image is the best. When sending pictures through Microsoft Outlook – the system will prompt you to “resize images” or “leave original sizes” – always click on original sizes. If you’re taking the pictures yourself, please set your camera to the largest file size possible. If you’re unsure, send me an email and I will help you along! For the more technologically advanced photo takers, 300DPI is ideal – or 1200x1800 pixels. But again, just ask if you’re unsure. I’m more than happy to help!
Do you have any advice for picture taking?
Children can be the toughest subjects to capture on camera. Don’t get discouraged – generally it takes 20 pictures or so to get one great shot. Unclutter the area that the child or baby is in and avoid large logos and distracting graphics on their clothing whenever possible. Your family and friends will find it easier to focus on your beautiful child that way. Get creative with the pictures you take – some of the most precious baby pictures are simply of their little feet and hands. Get in close for some of the pictures – and preview them on your camera if you’re shooting digitally – if it’s too blurry step back and rely more on the zoom. Natural lighting is always best for skin tones. We all know how different we can look under fluorescent lights versus the pictures in the sunlight. You can never take too many pictures and you’re sure to find a great shot amongst them in the end!
